On the journey to restoration we must hold on to what God says about our walk.
Do we even know what God says? Are we being instructed by Him? Are we seeking the better way? Are we truly looking for a way out? (Luke 6:46-49)
We must learn His ways. How do we do that? By seeking Him, being all the way real with Him, asking Him to cleanse us from anything that is not like Him. (1 Chron 22:19, 1 John 1:9, Jeremiah 17:14)
Accepting Jesus as our Lord and savior, being baptized in Jesus name, and being filled with His Holy Spirit. Of course, the world makes this look dull. But baby haven't you ever heard the ol' saying "looks can be deceiving". Don't be deceived and turn your back on the living God who wants to save your soul and change your life. (Romans 10:9-11, Acts 19:5, Acts 2:4) (1 Peter 5:8 John 10:10)
How do we accept His instructions? By staying in His word. Asking Him to guide us in our every move. Denying ourselves while learning, knowing, and then walking in His ways to live the better way. (Joshua 1:8, Psalm 119:133, Matthew 16:24)
As He is stripping us from everything that He never intended for us to be while molding us into the daughter and son we were meant to be...
We have to guard our hearts. We have to posture our heart in a such a way where it can only receive the ways of the Lord and not the world or man.
Above all else, guard your heart. Everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23)
Don't get discouraged by those side eyes people give you. (Jeremiah 1:8-9)
Don't get discouraged when you hear them gossiping about you. (Isaiah 51:7)
Don't get discouraged when your friends/family don't understand what God is doing in your life. (Galatians 1:10)
Don't get discouraged when your past tries to haunt you. (Isaiah 43:19, 1 John 1:9)
Most of all, DON'T QUIT!
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid: do not be discourage, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9
Be encouraged, ask God to help you see yourself how He sees you. (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 8:4-6, Ephesians 4:24)
Be encouraged, guard your ears from all negativity so that you can remember and hear what HE says about you. (Proverbs 4:20-21)
Be encouraged, don't allow just anyone to give you advice. Don't allow just anyone in your corner. The enemy is cunning and will try to creep in to knock you off track. (Psalm 1:12)
Be encouraged, God is building you up to change the lives of others. They may not understand it now, but one day they will. God makes everything beautiful in His time. (Acts 20:32, Ecclesiastes 3:11)
Don't quit, press towards where God is calling you. (Phil 3:13-14)
He has not brought you this far to leave you. (Hebrews 13:5, Duet 31:6-8)
The worst part that people see in you is the same part God will turn into beauty from ashes and use for His glory. (Isaiah 61:3-4)
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. (Matt 5:44)
